The #1 Mistake People Make When Manifesting Their Desires

There has been a lot of hype about the Law of Attraction over the past year. It all began with the movie, “The Secret”. The movie led people to attend seminars and purchase products from the people who appeared in the film. It caused authors like Abraham-Hicks to become a household name. In the end, many people began to believe that the key to getting anything you desire is to simply think a certain thought and *poof* it’ll suddenly appear.

But it doesn’t work that way. There’s a lot more to manifesting than just the Law of Attraction.

A lot of people are learning this the hard way. They’ve put a lot of hope and effort into thinking the “right” thoughts. They say they’ve been correctly applying the Law of Attraction, but they just aren’t attracting their desires. Some of them continue to do the same things they’ve been doing, refusing to stop after months, sometimes even years. Others give up after a few hours and are convinced the Law of Attraction is just a scam.

I wrote a previous article titled How Long Does It Take For The Law of Attraction To Work? which covers some of the problems people have had when applying the Law of Attraction. But now I want to discuss the mistake made most often. It’s a mistake common to people just beginning their study of the Law of Attraction, as well as to people who have spent years studying not just the Law of Attraction, but all of the laws that come into play when manifesting a desire.

And the most common mistake is… energy. When people ask for their desire (regardless of whether it’s by writing it down, focusing thoughts, or what not), they fail to include the energy necessary to manifest their desire. Energy is essential.

It doesn’t matter how great your affirmation is, how well you can visualize something happening, or even how many minutes a day you devote to attracting your desire. If the energy isn’t there, nothing will happen.

So what is the energy that you need?

It’s enthusiasm. You need to look at the world around you, excitedly expecting your desire to appear at any moment, because you know it’s already there…you can feel it coming to you.

A good example of how to do this is children. Think of what children do when they want something. They ask for it repeatedly, they describe everything about it, they can barely sit still, and they drive everyone crazy over it. However, they usually get what they want. If they don’t, it’s because they give up. But, if you really look at children when they want something, you’ll notice that their whole energy changes. They become full of hope and happiness. You can see them imagining what it would be like to get what they want as if it was already theirs. They don’t think about how something will happen or why it can’t happen. They never even think about whether or not it is possible for something to happen. They just expect it to happen and are filled with enthusiasm the whole time. For them, it is the most exciting thing in their lives.

But something changes with adults. Desires are no longer the most exciting things. If you have a list of things you would like to manifest, but you’re more excited about sleeping in on Saturday… well, sleeping in on Saturday is all you will manifest.

But when you can find the desire that you’re so enthusiastic about that you can’t stop talking about it, then you’ll have a desire with enough energy to manifest. The stronger your enthusiasm, the faster it will manifest.
