How to Pay the Bills
So often, people pass through their lives lamenting things around them - paying the bills, for example. They never stop to look at the benefit they receive from these things. All they see is the chore.
The electricity bill comes. You think, “Great, someone wants more of my money. They just take and take and take…always wanting more. What about me? When do I get to enjoy my money? When do I get to spend it on things that I want?”
Ah, but you see, you did. You got pleasure out of using the electricity. You were able to turn on a light whenever you wanted. You watched TV to your heart’s content. You fixed your meals. Your life was made so much easier and so much better. Be grateful for it.
When you pay your bills, focus on the benefit you received - your rent or mortgage bill gave you a place to sleep at night and to store your possessions, your phone bill allowed you to talk to your friends and family.
Don’t see yourself as having to “pay” the bills. Don’t see anyone as taking anything away from you. Doing so will only make you feel like there is never enough.
Instead, see the benefit you derived from “the bills.” Appreciate the prosperity brought to you. Write “thank you” on your checks. Enjoy the process - your wealth will multiply.
