Manifesting A New Job Sucess Story

Here is a success story about manifesting 3 jobs following a recent lay-off.

“Reading your words made me not believe the economy was terrible even though so many people said it was. I just kept feeling good most of the time, imagined where I wanted to work next, believed the job was already mine (even though that particular firm had not listed any positions with recruiters), and remained patient. I found this great recruiter who coincidentally mentioned the same firm as a place where we should send a ‘blind profile.’ The recruiter explained that you almost never got a response on a ‘blind profile,’ but I told her to go forward. Well, the firm said ‘yes!’ I went through two interviews and got the position even though it entails work that is totally different from my experience…. By the end of my job search, my severance hadn’t yet run out, and I had two offers and a call-back. I just signed the papers for the new job today! Thanks for keeping me not so focused on reality when doing so wouldn’t have been helpful!”

The Art of Visualization

“I keep trying to visualize what I want, but nothing’s working. I just can’t visualize. Please help me!”

- Maggie

Dear Maggie,

Visualizing your desires shouldn’t be stressful or frustrating. It should be fun and leave you feeling happier than when you started. Yet, like you, not everyone finds it easy.

Usually, people have trouble visualizing when they try to hard. They think there has to be a set formula, everything has to look the same way each time, and they have to do it perfectly. They get so wrapped up in the idea that they have to visualize, they end up pushing too hard and nothing happens. The logical part of their mind simply takes over and pushes the imagination to the side.

But visualization isn’t something that you can reason through logically. It’s a part of your childlike nature. It’s using your imagination to play “make believe.” It’s just a game where you ask yourself, if I could have this or that, what I would like it to be like?

And it’s a lot easier than you think.

Can you remember the route you normally take to go home?

Do you remember what your bedroom looks like?

Can you think of what a lemon looks like?

If you can do any of these things, you can visualize. It’s that easy.

If what you want is new bedroom furniture, think of what your current bedroom is like. What would you do differently? What would you change about the bed? your dresser? your nightstand? Would you place your furniture in the same places?

That’s visualizing. It’s looking at what you have now and changing it.

If you want a new house, what would you change about where you’re living now? Would you make it bigger? Would it be the same color? What would you do differently in each room?

Simply allow yourself to play a game with what you want and have fun.

And if you ever find yourself having trouble visualizing, forcing it to happen, or getting frustrated, simply focus on how you would feel if you had what you wanted now. Forget about the visual pictures and let your emotions guide you.

How to Create a Vision Board that Works

What is a Vision Board?

A vision board is a tool to help you use the Law of Attraction to bring your desires to you. By surrounding yourself with images of what you would like to be, do, or have in your life, you begin to focus more of your thoughts on those images and to add feelings to them, thus allowing your life to change so that it matches those images.

Supplies You Need to Create a Vision Board

  • Poster board
  • A large variety of magazines
  • Scissors
  • Glue, glue sticks, or rubber cement

Steps for Creating a Vision Board

1. Go through the magazines and cut out pictures or words that you like. Think of anything you’ve ever desired as you go through the magazines. For example, what kind of car would you like to have? Where would you like to live? Where would you like to visit? What would you like to do? What would you like to wear?

2. Go through the images you cut out and pick out your favorites. Trust your intuition. If any no longer feel good to you, put them to the side.

3. Begin to lay your favorite images on the poster board. You might decide to put them in different sections, such as job, wealth, relationships, and health. Or you may decide to put them all over the place in a giant collage. Trust your instincts.

4. Glue the images to the board. If there was an image you were looking for, but couldn’t find, draw a picture of it on the board. Feel free to write on the board and decorate it however you desire.

5. Place your vision board somewhere you’ll see it often. Popular places are next to a bed, in a kitchen, and in an office.

Vision Board Alternative

Instead of a vision board, you can also create a vision journal. Simply get a notebook or journal and decorate the individual pages just as you would a vision board. You can make each page an individual collage devoted to everything you want to manifest or you can divide your vision journal into sections with a set number of pages devoted to job, health, finances, etc.

The Key to a Successful Vision Board

Making a vision board is easy. To make it work, simply have fun. Enjoy the process of creating it. Feel good whenever you look at it. And see it as if it has already happened - like it’s a snapshot of your current life.

What I’m Manifesting

A while ago, I asked people what they would like to see on this blog. Several people asked for more stories about what I’m manifesting. I’ve always refrained from putting much of that on here because I tend to be a very private person. Writing about myself feels rather challenging and unnatural.

It’s strange for me to stop and think about what it is that I’m manifesting. I manifest things every day. I decide how I want things to go and they always end up working out the way I desire. Usually I remember to ask before things happen, but sometimes I do forget and find myself in the middle of something, thinking, “Oh, I don’t like how this is happening.  I need to change it,” and I do. Sometimes it’s meetings, car trips, vacations, phone calls, or just simply the painting of my living room.

Sometimes I’ll think of things that I want, completely forget about them, and suddenly be surprised when they show up in my life. Sometimes I’ll make notes to myself on a piece of paper, put it in a stack of things to do, only to have it taken care of for me - everything from purchases I need to make to errands I need to run to you name it. I do this with the smallest things in my life, as well as the very largest and grandest.

I’m constantly manifesting things, just like everyone else. The techniques I describe in Secrets of Manifesting  are so second nature to me that I usually don’t even have to think about them. Whenever I notice any resistance cropping up at any point in the day, I get rid of it.

Things manifest so easily and quickly for me because I constantly work on getting rid of resistance and remaining detached from things. Sure, there are times I’ll still catch myself wondering about the how or worrying about something, but I’ll immediately stop and refocus on feeling good.

But I think the real key is that I’m never focusing on any one desire and whether I might have resistance to it manifesting. I’m focusing on my entire life. And that allows me to constantly remain open to all areas of possibility.

So, what am I manifesting?

Everything.
