Law of Attraction Success Stories

It has been over a year since “The Secret” made the Law of Attraction a household phrase. Many people have had wonderful transformations take place in their lives, while others are still wondering if the Law of Attraction even works.

Do you have a success story you’d like to share? If so, please do so. You can add it to the comments section under this blog entry or you can send it to me personally.

Kiki shares her success story:

Ever since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of being a writer. After having my children and battling depression, I did not write again for over a decade. Trying to get back it it was hard and scary. I wrote, and I got rejected. Then I learned of the Law of Attraction in the summer of 2007. I wrote two short stories and submitted them both. Then, three times a day I would visualize receiving an acceptance email, telling my friends I had gotten published, etc. In November of 2007, I got my acceptance email! I kept writing and visualizing telling myself each day that I was a multi-published author with an unlimited about of story ideas and an unlimited amount of creative words to write them. I would see myself looking at a shelf full of books I had written. This summer, I received two more contracts. Everything I wrote last year is now published! Now, I am awaiting the September 2008 release of my two short stories in Celtic Love Knots, Volume 10, and the release dates for a personal anthology of four stories and a novella. Everyone sees me today as happy and successful. You can manifest your dreams.

Manifesting Quotes

“True happiness is… to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future.” - Seneca

“When you cease to dream, you cease to live.” - Malcom S. Forbes

“You want to hope for something better than what you have right now, don’t you? Otherwise you wouldn’t be hoping. But then, you forget that you have it all right now anyway, and you don’t know it. Why not concentrate on the now instead of hoping for better times in the future? Why not understand the now instead of forgetting it and hoping for the future? Isn’t the future just another trap?” - Anthony de Mello S.J.

“Believe that with your feelings and your work you are taking part in the greatest; the more strongly you cultivate this belief, the more will reality and the world go forth from it.” -Rainer Maria Rilke

“Paradise is here or nowhere: You must take your joy with you, or you will never find it.” - O.S. Marden

“…there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” - William Shakespeare, Hamlet

“In order to be utterly happy the only thing necessary to do is refrain from comparing this moment with other moments in the past, which I often did not fully enjoy because I was comparing them with other moments of the future.” - Andre Gide

Why It’s That Easy

The news is filled with a lot of bad things happening all around the world - from the very town you live in to places most people will never see - how many people take a vacation to the polar ice caps? Your friends and family talk about problems in their lives, things they don’t like, and so forth. It’s easy for you to begin to worry, to feel like you have to compete with others (even if it’s just for lower gas prices), or to start rushing around like the sky is falling.

All of these discussions, feelings and events are the very thing you want to avoid.

Whether it’s problems in your life, events taking place in another country or the misfortunes of others, avoid talking about them or thinking about them. Dwell on them and you’ll miss out on the good coming your way. It’s like turning off a switch - thinking about the negative switches you to the receiving things you don’t want mode. All your energy is directed to what you don’t want to happen and to what you dislike, so you attract more of it to you.

If you want gas prices to be too high, keep thinking and talking about how gas costs too much and, by all means, focus on everything the cost of gas is preventing you from doing.

If you want to have problems selling your house, spend all your time dwelling on how bad the housing market is, how prices are falling, and how long it is taking for houses to sell.

If you want to have less money than you need or desire, please concentrate on how money isn’t coming to you, how you spend it faster than you receive it, and how there’s never enough.

There are people who find gas easy to afford.  Every day people, like you and me.

There are people who are watching their house values increase and who are experiencing bidding wars, while they’re neighbors are afraid to put their houses on the market because of what the news has told them “might” happen.

There are people who are watching their bank accounts steadily increase. They find unexpected checks in the mail. Money just flows to them. They can’t help but grin with joy.

And all of these people are doing the same thing - feeling good as much and as often as possible.

In order to manifest your desires, you need to spend as much time as possible feeling good. Thinking about any difficulties going on, no matter whether they’re in your life or another’s, simply doesn’t feel good.

You want the things you want because somewhere inside of you you think that having them will make you feel good. If you’re looking for something to make you feel good, you need to begin feeling good now.

Worrying doesn’t feel good. Complaining about the government doesn’t feel good. Judging others doesn’t feel good.

Speaking words of encouragement, being grateful for what you already have, imagining how wonderful it is to live your dream life…those things make you feel good.

The more time you spend feeling good, the more good will come to you.

How to Create Affirmations that Work

Affirmations are statements that you repeat to yourself until they become beliefs. They can be used to eliminate negative thinking and to create situations that help you achieve your goals.

You can’t use affirmations to change someone else’s behavior, only your own. So, if you’ve been using affirmations like, “My children listen to me” or “My boss promoted me,” without success, now you know why.

Successful affirmations:

  1. Are connected to you, your behavior, and your goals. Your affirmation should focus on what you want to have happen and what you can do to obtain your goal. For example, “I am now saying the right things for my children to listen to me” or “I know what to say to get my children to listen to me and I am now saying the right things to get my children to listen to me.” In these examples, you have informed your subconscious mind that you need to say the right things to change the situation, you are saying them, and you are incorporating your goal of having your children listen to you.

  2. Are simple. Affirmations should be simple and easy to remember. Otherwise, it’ll be to easy to make excuses for not saying them, or to simply forget about them.

  3. Are positive. Affirmations need to focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want. For example, “I have a promotion.”

  4. Are in the present tense. Affirmations work best when phrased in the present tense, not in the future tense. For example, “I now have a new car,” not “I am going to have a new car.”

  5. Are filled with emotion. The more positive emotion you put into your affirmations as you say them, the faster you will see results. When you say your affirmation, really feel it. Get excited. Allow yourself to fill up with positive emotion.

This becomes even more important the longer you use the affirmations. In the beginning, they are exciting and new. After a while, it can feel like you are just saying them to say them. To keep your energy high, track your results, making note of any changes in your life or beliefs since you began using them.

  6. Require repetition. You can choose to either repeat the statements to yourself as often as possible during the day, read them a couple of times a day, record them and listen to them while driving or throughout the night as your sleep, or even write them down 15 times every morning, noon, and night.

How to Pay Your Bills

So often, people pass through their lives lamenting things around them - paying the bills, for example. They never stop to look at the benefit they receive from these things. All they see is the chore.

The electricity bill comes. You think, “Great, someone wants more of my money. They just take and take and take…always wanting more. What about me? When do I get to enjoy my money? When do I get to spend it on things that I want?”

Ah, but you see, you did. You got pleasure out of using the electricity. You were able to turn on a light whenever you wanted. You watched TV to your heart’s content. You fixed your meals. Your life was made so much easier and so much better. Be grateful for it.

When you pay your bills, focus on the benefit you received - your rent or mortgage bill gave you a place to sleep at night and to store your possessions, your phone bill allowed you to talk to your friends and family.

Don’t see yourself as having to “pay” the bills. Don’t see anyone as taking anything away from you. Doing so will only make you feel like there is never enough.

Instead, see the benefit you derived from “the bills.” Appreciate the prosperity brought to you. Write “thank you” on your checks. Enjoy the process - your wealth will multiply.

What Are You Happy For?

Today is International Happiness Day - a day devoted to the celebration of happiness.

You have the right to be happy. And you can be happy simply by choosing to be happy. It really that easy.

Think of everything you want to manifest…everything you want to have, be or do… You want it because you think it will make you happy. So why not choose to be happy now? Once you do so, you will begin to attract everything you desire faster and easier.

If you’re having trouble feeling happy, just think of some things you’re grateful for.

I’m grateful to be alive.

I’m grateful for my friends and family.

I’m grateful that every day I get to wake up and live the life I desire.

I’m grateful for the unexpected and amazing shopping spree I went on last week.

I’m grateful for today’s beautiful weather.

I’m grateful for the wonderful, delicious summer produce showing up at the farmer’s market.

What are you grateful for? What makes you happy?

International Happiness Day

July 10 is International Happiness Day.

Started by Liberto Pereda Romera of Spain, the premise is simple: “What would happen in the world if 1,000,000 people celebrated happiness the same day?”

We know that our thoughts create. Imagine the power of 1,000,000 thoughts all focused on the same thing - happiness. What can we create?
